Nog al te vaak worden Champagne en andere luxe mousserende wijnen in flûtes geschonken. Dit mogen weliswaar de traditionele glazen zijn, maar zeker niet de beste! Althans, niet als je het expert Maximilian Riedel vraagt.

Champagne is, evenals Franciacorta of goede Sekt of Cava, een complexe wijn, met een gelaagde geur en smaak. Al die geur- en smaakschakeringen kunnen zich veel beter ontwikkelen in een wijdere kelk dan in een smalle, hoge flûte.

Behalve over een ruimere kelk beschikt het Vinum Champagneglas over nog een geheim wapen voor optimaal drinkgenot. In de bodem van de kelk heeft Riedel een zogenaamd bubbel-punt gemaakt: een kleine oneffenheid in het glas die ervoor zorgt dat er een perfecte bubbelstroom kan ontstaan.

Kortom, als u écht van uw bubbels wilt genieten, dan mag het Vinum Champagneglas niet in uw glaswerkcollectie ontbreken. Ook perfect om cadeau te doen, natuurlijk vergezeld van een mooie fles Champagne, Franciacorta, Cava of Sekt.

The NV Pedro Ximénez Solera 1927 is non-vintage, but does have some 1927 material in it. This is totally dark brown/ amber with notes of figs, toffee, caramel syrup, molasses and coffee. It is dense, super sweet, intense, rich and an amazingly, unctuously textured, thick beverage to consume slowly and introspectively after a meal. Drink now through 2050, or even longer.
